Hello,

Is there some standards for excess fiber length? Sets are min. and max. values for individual cable constructions such as CLT (Central Loose Tube), MLT (Multi Loose Tube), ADSS (All Dielectric Self Supporting), DROP?

Thanks

There is no standard for excess fiber length. However, many companies follow the below rules:

Central Loose Tube construction: 0.2 to 0.3%

Multi Loose Tube construction: 0.05 to 0.1% at the loose tube stage. 0 to 0.1% after stranding the tubes.

ADDS construction: 0.1 to 0.15% at the loose tube stage. 0.05 to 0.1% after stranding the tubes.

Drop cable: Theoretically and practically almost straight if the construction is tight and flat cable. If you use loose tubes to nake drop cable, then 0.1 to 0.15%.

Hope this clarifies
